Ok, so, yeah, I've just slept until half eleven and I'm still tired. The strawberry plant on my window sill looks like it's enjoying itself though.
Anyway, wouldn't it be nice to wake up one day without a headache, legache, arm ache and just about everything else ache. I mean a life without pain would be so rewarding. Or at least unusual.
Told you this was gonna be self pitying, ok.
And there was something someone said at work last night. They suggested that this weekend I did something that I feel destresses me. Then they asked the BIG question, what do you like doing that calms you down.
the wind whislted and then this tumbleweed drifted slowly across the call centre.
Um......
I dunno, was my answer, it's been so long since I had the chance to do anything except stress or just grab a few seconds recovering from it's effects. I dunno what I'd enjoy doing that would be non stressful. Really. What do you do when the last three years have all been about stress and it's immediate after effects and you've lost track of all the stuff you used to do?
I'm open to suggestions here.
Oh yeah, and I've decided that since I can't ever organise a time when I can get a decorator to fix this wall in the flat I'll need to do it myself. So, I could use suggestions on how you get paint off a plaster wall without damaging the wall. Some of the plaster has peeled off or bubbled because of the water that came down and some is untouched so I'm guessing if I just painted over the top then it would show the different levels.

You could try the glass-of-wine-and-relaxing-music thing, and then roll about on the floor like a cat.....
Come to think of it, I haven't done that myself for a while.

Climb to the top of a hill.
Build a fire and sit and watch it (note - a small fire dear - no burning down work or people's houses)
Fly a kite.

Once the filler has had time to harden up, use a roller to coat the wall with a PVA based stabiliser, PVA glue let down with water so it's pretty thin works too, that will stick what's left together and stop any remaining loose stuff making the new paint flake off. Let that dry and then a couple of coats of textured matt paint put on with a fluffy roller will help disguise any remaining unevenness.
If it's really bad, after using the PVA put up lining paper before painting, the newer pastes you can put on the wall rather than the paper, so it's not as messy a job as it used to be, and they go on pink so you can see which bits you've missed.
Hope that helps some.

If these textured paints are ok I may just pain over that wall with a darker colour. Terracotta or sommat. I hate the painfully neutral off white, bit beigey nondescript non-colour that it is right now anyway. I think if even one wall was another colour it would lift the room a bit.
